The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) is an Australian Government program that provides access to up to $1000 in benefits over two consecutive calendar years, covering most basic general dental services (but not specialist services like orthodontics or services provided under general anaesthetic.) You don’t need to register your child for the CDBS. The Department will advise families and teenagers of Human Services if they are eligible.
Who is Eligible?
You don’t need to apply or register for CDBS. If your child is eligible, you should have received a letter from the government. In general, your kids can be eligible for CDBS when –
- They are eligible for Medicare
- They are between 2 and 17 years old for at least 1 day that year
- You or they get an eligible payment at least once that year. (Click here to find more information on eligible payment )
